Michael serves as Division Leader for the Mental Health and Behavioral Division of American Healthcare Management Group.
Michael Jasmon is also a Public Service Administrator at the Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center currently serving as Director of Forensic and Forensic Step-Down Programs he designed and developed specifically for special populations including individuals with intellectual disabilities, dual diagnoses, autism and traumatic brain injuries. For over 39 years Mike has worked in various roles at Choate including Behavioral Psychologist, Behavior Intervention Committee Chairperson, Assistant Facility Director, Forensic Unit Psychologist and Unit Director. In 1996, he accepted the challenge of developing a secure Forensic Unit for individuals with developmental disabilities which is the only one of its kind in the State of Illinois.
Mike has worked extensively with Criminal Courts over the past 22 years and is recognized as an expert witness with regard to legal fitness restoration issues throughout Illinois He has also developed a highly successful transition program that assists individuals, in coordination with the Court, in achieving successful community reintegration. Additionally, Mike has considerable experience in the field of Behavioral Psychology and has developed successful programs for behavior disordered children and adolescents, individuals with a variety of psychiatric disorders and forensic populations. He directs and coordinates multidisciplinary treatment teams in the provision of comprehensive treatment programs.
Over the course of his career, Mike has developed a vast amount of experience in accreditation survey preparation including involvement with the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Department of Justice. This includes developing policies and procedures, management systems and staff training designed to assist his facility in meeting federal standards of care.
